Before the flight
- The pilot studies the weather forecast the day before. If wind or rain make the flight risky, we cancel and offer you another date or a 100% refund.
- The equipment is checked before every flight: envelope, burners and basket.
- At the launch site, the pilot checks the conditions again. If they are not right, the balloon does not take off: breakfast is served and the flight is refunded in full.
- Before boarding, the pilot gives every passenger the safety briefing.
During the flight
- Our pilots are trained and certified, and stay in contact with the ground crew, who follow the balloon until landing.
- The balloon usually flies between 300 and 1,000 metres, depending on the weather and regulations, with altitude and speed instruments on board.
- If a passenger feels unwell, the pilot adjusts the altitude or the route.
- Landing is gentle, in an open field chosen by the pilot.
Who can fly?
Children from 4 years old, as long as they can see over the edge of the basket and stand for the whole flight. Passengers must be in good health and able to climb in and out of the basket without much help. If you have heart, breathing or mobility problems, ask your doctor first.
